Legendary Pictures is developing a feature adaptation of the Warren Ellis comic book property "Gravel."
Avatar Press publishes the ongoing series, which blends espionage and dark fantasy in tracking the modern-day exploits of British "combat magician" William Gravel. Ellis ("Planetary") first introduced the character in a 1999 limited series of graphic novels entitled "Strange Kiss."
Rick Alexander is producing with Legendary. Ellis will serve as executive producer and pen the screenplay.
Ellis, who is repped by the Cheng Caplan Co. and Nelson Davis Wetzstein LLP, also has "Red" in development at Summit, "Ocean" in development at Warner Bros. and "Global Frequency" in development at Warner Bros. TV.
Legendary also has "Warcraft," with Sam Raimi, in development, and it is in production on "Inception," "Clash of the Titans," "Sucker Punch" and "Jonah Hex." It will next have "Where the Wild Things Are" in theaters later this month.
Alexander is also developing "Executive Vice President of Fairyland" at MGM.

As much as I would absolutely love the idea, I shudder at the possibility of seeing a live action Crossed movie, another Avatar series.

At first I thought this was about Senator Mike Gravel. Who wouldn't watch that?
