Hollywood’s lining up to be hunted!
Adrien Brody is boarding to star in "Robert Rodriguez's Predators," Fox’s reboot of the sci-fi franchise being directed by Nimrod Antal. Rodriguez is producing with Elizabeth Avellan.
Topher Grace is in negotiations to join the action-adventure movie, to which Alice Braga ("I Am Legend"), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali ("The 4400"), Walt Goggins ("The Shield"), Rodriguez mainstay Danny Trejo and UFC fighter Oleg Taktarov have also been cast.
Written by Rodriguez, Alex Litvak and Michael Finch, the script follows a group of elite warrior-types who are being hunted by members of a race of merciless alien trackers called Predators.
Brody is a man who ends up inheriting the mantle of leader and is known as a hunter of men. Grace would play an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer.
Braga is the tough female killer. Ali is a man not afraid to die, Goggins is the loose canon of the group and Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent.
Trejo, already cast, is Cuchillo, a hardened warrior with twin uzis strapped to his back.
Shooting begins next month in Hawaii then moves to moves to Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin. The movie is slated for a July 9, 2010, release.
Brody was last seen in Dario Argento’s “Giallo” and next voices the character of Rickity in Wes Anderson’s “The Fantastic Mr. Fox.” Grace will next be seen in New Line's ensemble romantic comedy "Valentine's Day."

Very cool! Now I'm excited.

This has been the year of the re-boots. Wonder how long this will last. Seriously, can they not come up with anything original at all?

It's like they totally forgot why the last two movies under-performed, which is that they focused more on the cast than the action.

It's still the first "True" Predator film we've had in a long time.

What a let down. The first movie starred a gang of hulking badasses like Arnold and Jesse Ventura who couldn't even kill ONE predator without him blowing himself up. Now I'm to understand that fucking Topher Grace and Adrian Brody are better suited to slay the deadly alien race? This is bullshit.

The last 2 movies focused too much on cast? Are you freaking kidding me? and lol @ Johnnyboy

I agree that doing this story over again is stupid. It's just a way to generate money...an easier way than filming something of better quality. I think it's a total waste of time. I don't think Adrian Brody is the type for this movie, but perhaps, he will surprise all of us. As for Topher Grace, I have no idea. This is Hollywood folks, so don't be surprised.

I'm having a hard time thinking of 2 worse choices than Brody and Grace. I actually chuckled out loud when I saw the headline. My expectations for this movie were very low, yet I'm still disappointed. Also, what "Johnnyboy" said. I still think it could turn out to be a pretty good comedy. America has been completely and totally emasculated.

Lets face it, Fox's history of rebooting sci-fi franchise's such as Aliens (alien resurrection, and the AVP's) and X-Files (Xfiles:I want to believe) have been a disaster for fans. This is going to be silly action stuff and no doubt we will have some stupid scene with adrien brody high fiving a predator when the story tries to have some relationship plot twist to it. This franchise should have been left with the 90 year old Danny Glover grunting his way through the movie.

I know this sounds cliche... But I was rather hoping they would really fill the character boots of arnolds character with John Cena. He looks as if he could take one head on, if both of them were out of ammo/technology. I just don't know how good he can act because he's only done WWE films.. which don't pressure you to act very.. well.. good. (Still, he's decent in action films) I think they're oging to focus on more-or-less these guys minds being able to take control... OR.. No one survives, predators hunt them down, and it's less action, more thriller/horror, which could be REALLY cool in my opinion. Lets give it a shot, guys. Batman begins was one HELL of a reboot. This could follow suit.

WOW. This is awful news. I love Predator and Robert Rodriguez but Adrien Brody and Topher Grace? Just terrible.

WTF!! Brody and Topher Grace!?!? two of the skinniest looking pussies in Hollywood are going to do what Arnold, Jesse venture and Carl Weathers did?!!?? Leave the Predator franchise alone!!! Or let me direct it. Don't even compare this to the batman franchise. Batman 1 and 2 were good, but could've used a touch up. Predator 1 AWESOME!! A real mans movie. Brody, Grace and Rodriguez will RUIN this worse the AVP!! RUIN IT!!

This flick is gonna suck - straight up.

If I do watch the movie, I'll just be waiting for Red to leap out of the bushes with a "Shoot him already Dumbass".

Robert Rodriquez is a decent director, love most of his movies especially from dusk till dawn. I do agree that no predator or alien movie will ever be as good as the originals. Adrian Brody is a good actor i doubt rodriquez would use him as a "warrior". This movie will either be a great, believable and exiting re-boot, or it will be worse than AVP.

I think they have chosen someone like Brody because they don't want to compete with Arnie's legend. Brody will be more like Danny Glover's character and use his brains to win. I just can't understand why it has to be a reboot or remake when a SEQUEL works just fine.

Hmm, maybe they have an exo-suit of some sort that jack up strength and agility by say 200% or something. Or they're all carrying BFGs...

From power grunts to old men, women and now pussies. It looks like the minds behind Microsoft's cheesy ads are behind this (or someone who wilfully hates the Predator franchise).
