Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Quentin Tarantino lists his top films of 2009:

Great post.I would like to say Quentin Tarantino has, like... the most interesting hand gesticulations of anyone working in Hollywood. Just really crazy, balls to the wall hand motions going on there.

Tarantino nails it once again. I'd love to have seen District 9 in his top eight, but I'm glad he's willing to give it another look. Having said that, those eight are pretty powerful.

I love QT as a writer/director. As a speaker, cripes ten seconds of him talking and I'm about ready to punch something. Next time, please either add closed captions or a text-only list, please?

Star Trek number 1??? Eh. That'd be in my top five worst films of the year. Star Trek for morons.

I didn't know he was gay.wow

"Observe & Report"? Really, Quentin?!

"I didn't know he was gay.wow"

You didn't write that? Seriously? Jeez... Nearly as bad as the 'Star Trek for morons' comment.

Actually, no, they are both pathetic.

"Inglourious Basterds" was going to be the worst movie I saw this year (because of the absolute betrayal of the audience, re the Nazi about-face at the end of the movie). Lucky for Tarantino I saw "Anti-Christ." So his movie ends up as the second-worst movie I saw in 2009.

I'm disappointed in him: Star Trek??? You know, it would have been a decent movie had it not been given the "Bourne Ultimatum" spaz-cam treatment.

I haven't seen Observe and Report, but I want to. I would've put The Hangover up there. And of course, Inglourious Basterds.

Now that's one weak mainstream list.

I'm wondering if Tarantino had seen Herzog's Bad Lieutenant.

I mean, I don't think he's very into Werner Herzog's films, but with Nic Cage in a lead role who hadn't been seen in while in his career, and in a Crime-Drama with a lot of black humor.

May be this warm reception to the film it's the same that "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction" received once, and right now are cult films.

Funny people # 3 the movie sucked

Great list
glad to see someone else appreciated Funny People and Observe and Report on the same level that I did
Both great films that went against what people thought they would be
It's not very often we get a year with so many solid movies as we did this year
I would've liked to see The Hangover and (500) Days of Summer on that list though
both great movies that went beyond my expectations

and to the user that said "a weak mainstream list": what's so wrong with that? usually I'm all about the independent and underground when it comes to film but there's no denying that every film on this list is a fantastic movie. Especially Precious and Up in the Air. both very unconventional films, both unique, both major motion pictures. so quit hating on the mainstream cause its the "hip thing to do"

overall a very solid list from a very solid director/writer

Great Top 8.I'm Agree!
I Have just to see still Chocolate! But I'm feel like it's pretty awesome!

In Italy Avatar e Invictus are waiting for the next february....I Hope So!

Indeed I watch District 9 two times and maybe I can put it in the 9'th position!
And sure....Inglourious Basterds is in top 3 of the year!

Waiting for Eastwood,Jackson and Cameron!

Good Talk!

>>(because of the absolute betrayal of the audience, re the Nazi about-face at the end of the movie). <<

So it's the movie's fault you're a complete idiot and utterly missed the point?

ok but what about MOON and BROTHERS BLOOM ?????

I love that he listed Observe and Report. I found it hilarious.

Where the hell is the damn list?

Wow...I always thought Tarantino was a bright (zany, but bright) guy but, correct me if I'm wrong, did he just say in-vic-UH-tus?
