Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz, who wrote "Thor" for Marvel, have come aboard to pen "Damn Nation," a futuristic vampire project lurking at Paramount.
Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg are producing the adaptation, which is based on a comic by Andrew Cosby and art by Jason Alexander (not the "Seinfeld" actor.) Michael Aguilar and Dean Georgaris are also producing.
Set in a U.S. evacuated after an attack from "inhuman nocturnal predators," the comic tells the tale of the survivors after the government has been forced to relocate to London while scientists search for a solution.
Cosby and his Boom! Studios partner Ross Richie are exec producing.
In addition to "Thor," the WME- and Principato/Young-repped Miller and Stentz are writer-producers on "Fringe," the supernatural Fox series created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. They also wrote Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
Strangely I'm not over the whole vampire thing. In fact, not sure I ever will be, especially sci-fi ones.

I think the movie version of I Am Legend took a lot of bits from Damn Nation. The 'vampires' are really more like zombies than vampires. There's none of the typical vampire 'mythos' or anything like that. The book is pretty decent overall. Not the best written thing ever, but there's a lot of potential there. I remember thinking you could make a good flick out of it when I read it....
