This feels like an appropriate combination but you want to make sure with adaptations like this that it is an adaptation and not a transcription. I'm happy to hear that Mr. Kirkman is open to divergence from the source material because the only way for an idea to grow is to look at it from different angles. It has to be true to the spirit, if not the canon. What if Batman The Animated Series was the first volume of the original Batman stories? We never would have gotten the funny/scary joker embodied by Mark Hammel or the degree of depth we now have for Mr. Freeze. I'm excited to see where this may lead, and what characters/ new ideas may come out of it.
