Add Channing Tatum to the list of names of actors being considered for the role of Captain America.
Tatum now joins Wilson Blethel and Mike Vogel, who have screen-tested, plus Chris Evans, who has read for the part. Marvel is also still keen on Garrett Hedlund.
At this stage, Tatum, who just wrapped filming on the Steven Soderbergh action flick “Knockout,” has only been approached for the role and has not seen a script. The actor played Duke in “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” but despite that movie doing modestly at the box-office, fanboy reaction was muted and its viability as a franchise is set on neutral.
Tatum certainly has the heft for Captain America, but can he play the 98-pound weakling alter ego Steve Rogers was before taking the super-serum which turns him into a perfect human specimen? This could be Tatum’s chance to pull a “Machinist” -- Christian Bale lost 60 pounds for the role which, while attracting some heat from health groups, received acclaim for his performance in that movie.
Casting for other roles in the Captain America movie is just as hot.
Hugo Weaving’s deal is still being worked on, though not much movement has occurred since last week.
And the search is on for the female lead. Details for the part are being kept secret for now but it is rumored to be his flame Betsy Ross (ironically, named after the woman who is credited with creating the American flag). Keira Knightley was approached last week but the studio is also looking at other actresses.

yuck. channing tatum? good grief.

I find it funny that Cap' love interest is Betsy Ross and Hulk's love interest is Betty Ross.

I see a bootleg tape of her in a play The Misanthrope in London and her American accent is perfect and sounds like it is from a 1940's. Im so seriously.
Channing Tatum will be so good too because when Captain America does a crazy dancing like in Step Up 2: A Streets that maybe was a best movies of 2007? Find out here

Could we at least cast a gut who actually has to shave every day for the role of "Captain America". Try someone who's at least 28 please! Thank you!

Hey, Lisa, Tatum is actually 30ish - I know, looks like a teenager. I agree with you that "Captain America" should have a little more "gravitas", though.

Chan Tatum is Captain America.
He doesn't look like a teenager he is 29 years old just good skin I presume. Don't hate the look and he can also beef up or down with each performance.
Anyone who creates a website called postthelove.com is Captain America because Chan is spreading the love to the max.
Thats what Captain America would do.
I think all candidates should have a dance off and guess who would win.
Good luck to all candidates pick Chan but I will be happy with the final choice and watch the film.
Think about it he does his own stunts and he can dance, what more do we want plus he has the style.
Important: He can act too, me thinks destiny calls him as he was approached a year ago too and made a statement that he was happy to undertake this role if it happened.
He doesn't get gr8 roles for nothing? Looks helps but he can act and has a solid fanbase which is growing everyday and will watch/make money for the studio.
Chan, go get it and own it; prove people wrong.
Hope this is clear studio.
Think love not hate......in meantime go back and watch Dear John.

Just watched a DVDrip of this a couple of days ago... I was shocked by the blood and gore of it all! I couldn't help but cover my kids eyes immediately!

Being in the frontier of nursing career is not a piece of cake, as it does hold ups and downs in it, akin to many other professions.
