Warner Bros.' Zack Snyder-animated film "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" is being retitled "Legend of the Guardians."
The move is not that surprising, since just looking at "Ga'Hoole" you can tell some people were going to have a problem. I can appreciate that. I mean, what's a Ga'Hoole? And what's with the apostrophe, man? I bet no movie with an apostrophe has ever grossed more than a thousand dollars. Check Box Office Mojo if you don't believe me.
But the new title may be a little too generic. Thoughts, anyone?
Still, credit Warners, Village Roadshow and Animal Logic for tackling this movie, an adaptation of a book series by Kathryn Lasky about a group of young kidnapped owls who must try to find the Guardians of Ga'Hoole (there's that apostrophe again) in order to save their kingdom. Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush and Helen Mirren are among the voices.
Warners opens the movie domestically Sept. 24.

I actually don't think that changing the title would really make a great difference. The thing that matters is about the whole content which is in been decided to entertain the whole audience. I liked the concept and lets see what results does it come up with.

The new title is aimed at those who might not understand what a “Ga’Hoole” is or means. And while it may be easier for people to pronounce and understand, for me the new title comes off a bit generic sounding.
