Jason Segel has found his rainbow connection with Disney's Muppets movie, signing to star as the human lead.
He also will join David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films/TV, the studio-based shingle behind last year's "The Proposal," as a producer on the project.
James Bobin is on board to direct the movie, the plot of which is under wraps. The TV show as well as some of the movies tended to have one key human actor with whom the Muppets associated on their adventures. It is known that Segel plays a man on a quest to find and reunite the Muppets.
The actor's coming aboard is a natural extension of the development process; he wrote the script with pal Nicholas Stoller.
Segel has been on a tear with feature work of late. He recently boarded the Cameron Diaz comedy "Bad Teacher" and last week signed to star with Ed Helms in the Duplass brothers' latest movie, "Jeff Who Lives at Home."
He is repped by WME and Abrams Entertainment.

To me a muppet are so creepy because they are puppets with a hand in their ass and now this giant person who kind of looks like a muppet and scares me too is in a movie. This is my nightmares in a making...
Not like these movies that give me boners

Your top 10 movies suck something fierce dude. The title of the blog alone makes me shutter with disappointment. Not to say a muppet movie will be anything worthy of a top 10, but seriously put your spartan helmet away and watch some real movies, not the one your mom rented you from redbox.

Should a guy who exposed himself on-screen really be associated with a muppet movie? Does Disney truly not realize how creepy this is? Who the heck is running the place now - Hugh Hefner?

i think its going to be awesome, and i agree with you. The Henson Company hasn't had a very good run with films recently, however this sounds like it could bring a lot more to the table!!! I think Jason was a good move for the lead too. He is a popular actore at the moment and a pretty funny dude! what a better way to rake in money at the box office?
