"The Hobbit" could start production in July.
That word come from no less an authority than Gandalf himself, Ian McKellan. On his website, McKellan wrote plainly and directly about "Hobbit":
He revealed that both "Hobbit" films start shooting in July in New Zealand. "Filming will take over a year. Casting in Los Angeles, New York City and London has started. The script too proceeds. The first draft is crammed with old and new friends, again on a quest in Middle Earth."
New Line maintains that no deals for actors have been made but who are they trying to kid? My Ukrainian grandmother knows McKellan is coming back as Gandalf.
Now all they need to do is find Bilbo Baggins and we can get this party started.

That start time to filming is later then they said before. A delay is never a good sign but why are people, like Ian Mckellen, talking about this movie if no greenlight has been given yet? MGM and whoever are in financial trouble so this is a very bad sign.

I think the original Bilbo Baggins would still be great. With a little technology and makeup, they could make him look younger and still retain the essence of Bilbo Baggins as we have been accustomed to in the LotR Trilogy.
Big fan of the trilogy. Will watch out for this. :)

I wouldn't let his resume worry you, Stan did excellent work in Kings. He definitely has talent and I'm excited to see how he'll handle this role.

Yes, I am very happy to hear these news. I already started thinking that they quit the whole thing and I am so looking forward to see this movie one day.
